Microbial Fermentation

The basis for every cost-effective protein production process is an optimal space-time-yield during fermentation. Scil Proteins Services addresses the critical factors during bacterial fermentation: media composition, oxygen supply, feeding strategy, time of induction, growth rate, by-products, product variants et cetera. Based on these parameters, robust and scalable fermentation protocols, resulting in high product yields, are developed.

At Scil Proteins Services, non-GMP fermentation equipment is designed in a scale of 0.2 up to 100 litres culture volume which not only allows fermentation development but also production of several kilograms of biomass and subsequent recovery of the target proteins for preclinical studies.
